A few quick random thoughts and then onto the color work.
First, I keep adding ! to everything I type lately, I wonder what that is all about?!
Second, I have now become totally and completely obsessed with knitting (some of you may have guessed that already) as evidenced by a recent dream. I actually have dreams about knitting all the time. In fact, when having a knitting problem I often go to bed and dream a solution. Perhaps I should not admit that because it sounds a little weird, but it is true. Anyhow, what I really wanted to tell you all about was my dream about the Yarn Harlot. In my dream Stephanie (obviously because I have dreamt about Ms. Pearl-McPhee we are now on a first name basis) came over to my house and we sat on the couch and knitted together. The entire time I was freaking out because I had nothing more to offer, just my couch and some knitting. I was trying to think of somewhere else we could go that would be more exciting, but I couldn’t come up with anything. End of dream, nice huh?
Talking about my dream is also a good excuse to tell my one real life Yarn Harlot story. When she came on her book tour to KC a group of us went to hear her speak. When in line doing camera duty for Fayaway, Stephanie told me my sweater was lovely. I don’t remember exactly how she phrased it but the adjective she used was lovely. Yay me! I was wearing my phyllo yoked pullover, ravelry link and yoke photo. I am incredibly proud of that sweater and it is still one of my favorites.
Ok, finally on to color work.
I have been plotting and charting a fair isle type sweater for myself for quite a while now. I finally purchased the yarn this December and now have a swatch.
I am crazy proud of how this turned out.
There will be one subtle change to this pattern in my next swatch where I am planning on trying out some steeks. I am currently knitting something else so the swatch will go on hold until the summer top I am making is finished. When there is appreciable progress made I will take some pics and post about the top.
I was going to unveil my sock design for Elinor’s Contest but because the pattern is not quite done and the contest date has been extended I will just show a sneak peek. These are also color work so they fit the theme of the day.
Did you notice? You can see my new carpet in all these photos. I am so happy to have my house back in order and carpet that I really like on my floors. WOOHOOO!!
One last note – be sure to comment on my last post to enter the contest for some malabrigo yarn.

I’m awed by anyone who can design. I’m still learning how to follow a pattern!
I’m excited that your fair isle sweater is starting to take shape!
Caffeine Girl – Designing I enjoy, pattern writing is tough. I am not by nature a writer and making things clear to others is a challenge. I need to find a good editor.
Emily – I am trying hard not to cast on for the sweater right now, but starting a wooly fair isle sweater in April to knit all summer long would be crazy.
I am anixously awaiting the unveiling of the sock pattern. Perfect birthday present for my niece.
