I hope after that post title everyone has some David Bowie stuck in their head (no switching to Vanilla Ice.) That is the unfortunate progression my brain takes when hearing that song. I wonder what that means? Nothing good I am sure.
Anyhow, a friend made a comment that I have not posted in a bit so I am succumbing to the peer pressure and writing something just to please others. Call me a sheep. (Oh the terrible knitting humor.)
In other knitting related news the cream and red blanket is coming along…….slowly. It really looks almost the same as the last picture I posted, except more blob-like.
Here is a picture of some knitting I shouldn’t really have done.
I know it may not be immediately recognizable, but that is a swatch. A swatch for a sweater. I know that I can’t start the sweater until at least January. I know that the swatch is incredibly half-assed. It is about 2 1/2 inches wide and maybe an inch long. I knit it on the right size needle for the project but on wooden needles not the addis I will be actually using for the pattern. I think I broke every swatching rule. I even measured the stitch gauge while it was still on the needles, unwashed and unblocked. I knew before starting that I would need to redo the entire swatching process for this project. But, I am at heart a sweater knitter and knitting that swatch made me feel better, so I did it. I wish you could touch my dear little swatch, the yarn is really really soft. I am thinking of binding off and carrying my swatch around with me until the holiday knitting is over.
